How to type Vietnamese

The Vietnamese layout keeps the English letters and turns the number row into the Vietnamese ones: ă on 1, â on 2, ê on 3, ô on 4 and đ on 0. ư and ơ are on [ and ].

The five tone marks are on 5 to 9, typed after the vowel: grave on 5, hook on 6, tilde on 7, acute on 8 and dot below on 9. So a then 8 gives á, and ă then 9 gives ặ.

Because the number row types letters, the digits are on AltGr: 1 is AltGr + 1.

Many Vietnamese typists use Telex instead (aa for â, s for the acute tone). This keyboard follows the Windows Vietnamese layout; Telex is not built in yet.
