How to type Thai
This is the Thai Kedmanee layout, the standard one. Thai has more letters than a keyboard has keys, so Shift is used all the time, even on the number row: without Shift the top row types ๅ / - ภ ถ, and Thai digits are on Shift (๑ is Shift + 2).
Vowels written before the consonant are typed first, in the order you see them: เ on G, แ on C, โ on Shift + F, ใ on . and ไ on W. So เก is เ then ก.
Tone marks go after the consonant (and after any vowel above or below it): ่ on J, ้ on H, ๊ on Shift + U and ๋ on Shift + J.
Thai does not put spaces between words; spaces separate phrases and sentences. The Layout menu also has Thai Pattachote, an older layout arranged by letter frequency.
