About ManyKeyboards: Who Makes It and Where Layouts Come From

Free online keyboards for typing other alphabets on any computer or phone, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

Who makes it

ManyKeyboards is built and written by Lucas Pradella, a digital marketer who makes free web tools. The guides are generated from the same layout data as the keyboards, so every key they name matches the keyboard on this site.

Where the layouts come from

• Keyboard layouts: Unicode CLDR release 43, keyboards/windows (the Windows layouts), under the Unicode License.
• Korean Dubeolsik letters and jamo combinations: libhangul (hangul-keyboard-2.xml, hangul-combination-default.xml), LGPL 2.1.
• Japanese romaji to kana: Google mozc romanji-hiragana.tsv, BSD 3-clause licence.
• Hindi by sound: the ITRANS scheme from indic-transliteration common_maps, MIT licence.
• Urdu Phonetic (CRULP): Keyman keyboard urdu_phonetic_crulp by SIL Global, MIT licence.
• Amharic and Tigrinya: the Geʾez Frontier Foundation phonetic keyboards (gff_amharic, gff_tigrinya_eritrea) from Keyman's keyboard repository, MIT licence.
• Alphabets and native language names: Unicode CLDR release 43 locale data.
• Letter names: the Unicode Character Database.
